Peace-of-Mind Protection

Home - It’s the place for raising a family… neighbourhood gatherings... and backyard barbecues. It’s your home, and, as the saying goes, there’s no other place quite like it.

That’s why choosing the proper insurance program is such an important decision. It’s about more than just price. It’s about choosing a company that’s going to be there when you need it most.

Edge Mutual is naturally equipped to understand the unique insurance needs for you, your property, and your community.

That’s because we’re part of the rural community and have been for generations. Because like you, when it comes to protecting our homes, we prefer to deal with a neighbour, not a stranger.

With Edge Mutual, you can be assured you’re receiving personalized protection for your residence and property.

Country Living

A standard residential policy just won’t cut it for people living in rural areas.  Now there’s a simple way to get the peace of mind that you are protected by an insurance program specifically designed for large properties or hobby farms.

The Country Living package is a comprehensive residential insurance program with some extra “farm-like” protection thrown in for good measure.  It takes the best residential coverage and enhances it even further.

After all, you don’t just live in a house, you live on a country property.

  • All risk coverage on your dwelling and contents

For items such as:

  • Machinery (eg. garden tractor, snow plow)
  • Detached Buildings
  • Produce (eg. seed, feed, fertilizers)
  • Livestock (up to 8 animals / 3 boarded)
  • Tack
  • Equipment
  • Legal Liability

Cottage / Secondary

Dwellings that are owner occupied on a part-time basis and therefore do not qualify for a Home Package (above), may qualify for one of our Secondary or Seasonal Packages.

The Principle Residence must be insured with Edge Mutual in order to qualify for this coverage. However, in some cases there are exceptions to this rule (e.g. the Principle Residence is located outside of Ontario).  Your broker can assist in resolving any unusual circumstances that may need to be reviewed.

Edge Mutual can provide coverage for up to two other rented dwellings when the Principle Residence is also insured with Edge Mutual.

Rented dwellings must be permanently occupied, single-family dwellings.
